What is IBSAT?
IBSAT (ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test) is a computer based management entrance test conducted by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education for admission into 9 campuses of IBS which are located at Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Banglore, Pune, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Jaipur, and Kolkata.
The exam acts as a gateway for admission into the below-mentioned courses-

The registration for the exam has been released from 1 July, 2018. Interested can candidates can fill application form until 12 December, 2018. The exam will be conducted on 22nd-23rd December, 2018.
In this article, we will be providing you the detailed information about ICBAT 2018 which includes important dates, application process, eligibility criteria, exam centres, admit card, counseling process and more.
Structure of IBSAT exam
The exam would have objective type multiple choice questions and will go on for 2 hours with 140 questions to attempt. The question paper is divided into four sections:
1. Verbal Ability | 50 questions |

3. Quantitative Aptitude | 25 questions |
4. Data Adequacy And Data Interpretation | 25 questions |
The exam is of 140 marks in total. Each question carries one mark and no mark is deducted for wrong answers.

IBSAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria
For 2-year MBA/PG program
- Graduate in any discipline with 50% and above marks in the qualifying exam with the medium of instruction as English and the applicant must have completed 15 years of regular education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis).
- Candidates who have completed their graduation in any medium other than English are required to submit their TOEFL/IELTS/NELT score by 31 May, 2019
- Final year students in graduation can also apply.
- There is no age limit for IBSAT 2018.
For Ph.D program in Management (Full Time/Part Time)
- Graduate in any discipline with 50% and above marks in the qualifying exam with the medium of instruction as English
AND
- Post graduation in Management with full-time specialization in Marketing / Finance/ Human Resource Management / Operations from a UGC approved University with 60% and above marks
OR
- Candidates with 60% or above marks in professional qualification like CFA/CA/CWA/CS can also apply
For Ph.D program in Economics (Full Time)
- Graduate in any discipline with 50% and above marks in the qualifying exam with the medium of instruction as English
- Post graduation in Economics or an allied discipline with 60% or above marks from a UGC approved University.
- All applicants must have completed 17 years of regular education (10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 basis)
- Candidates who have completed their graduation in any medium other than English are required to submit their TOEFL/IELTS/NELT score by 31 May, 2019.
Application forms and submission procedure
The application form is common for admission to MBA/PGPM/PhD. It is available both online and offline.
Online Process
- Candidates need to visit the official site and click on “Apply Online” option
- Post clicking you will be redirected to the login page. If you are visiting for the first time, click on “here” option and you will be taken to the application form.
- On the application form you will be required to fill in your personal and communication details. Once the details are filled you need to pay the application fee of Rs 1800.
- Once the payment is done, click on “finish” button.
Offline Process
- The application form can be purchased by a payment of Rs.1800 through any of the marketing offices or from any of the 9 campus offices.
- Candidate will receive a login ID and voucher number. Both of these are required for registration.
- Once logged in using the above credential, candidates are advised to reset the password immediately.
- Next click on “Ok” and fill in the required details.
Fee Payment
The application fee is Rs 1800 in both online and offline method. Online fee can be paid through any of the below mentioned options-

NOTE- Candidates who are applying through NMAT by GMAC/GMAT/CAT, need to email their scores to ibsat@ibsindia.org.
Admission Procedure
After, the results are announced the qualified candidates are invited to follow up the selection procedure. The section process a two-step.
First step- The candidates who have cleared the off released by the institute will have to appear for the selection process. Selection process for ISBAT 2018 will be conducted at Hyderabad campus from February 20-26, 2019 for MBA PGPM programs and from March 17-20, 2019 for Ph.D programs.
Second Step- Candidates, who have cleared the cut off the institutes, will have to appear for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
Finally, after consideration of exam scores, GD & PI and Past academic records, the candidate will be selected/rejected.

The notification for the IBSAT 2018 for IBS business schools came around in the month of July 2018.
Syllabus
The syllabus for IBSAT is divided into 4 sections and there is no negative marking for incorrect answer. There are going to be 140 questions in all with 2 hours allotted to solve the question paper. The sections into which paper is divided are:

IBSAT Result
The result would be out on March 19, 2018 and candidates can check the official website for regular updates.
Reservation/Seat Distribution
Each participating IBS has a different cut off and different number of seats available. After the results are announced and cut offs are released one can go through the official websites of different IBS centres and can have a look as to how many seats are available per course in every IBS.
However, there is no management and NRI quota in any of the IBS branch. One can also contact them in case of any enquiry regarding allotment of seats and may have a discussion. It is generally advised to look through the number of seats available after the cut offs are released to have a clear insight.

IBSAT 2018 Counselling Schedule
The candidates would be selected for the final admission at the IBS Business School and ICFAI University campus through the ISBAT scores, Group discussion and Personal Interview. The selection procedure will be conducted at IBS Hyderabad campus in the month of February (MBA/PGPS) and March (Ph.D).
The ISBAT exam was conducted in a 22 day window; it was a computer based exam after which the results are declared. The result declares the names of the shortlisted candidates on the basis of ISBAT cut off released by the University. After the students are shortlisted, they are called for Group discussion and personal Interview at the IBS Hyderabad campus to judge students in depth.
Students are interviewed and are taken into consideration after having judged them in detail. After the interviews are over, the final list is put up and students are selected for admission into the MBA, PhD and PGPM programmes at different IBS centres.
